What I love is when somebody takes ideas seriously enough to organise them. There must have been some wonderful conversations along the way for making something like this.

There’s a line I wrote on that page: “An idea can be worth making even if the only thing it becomes is itself.”

That gets quite close to why I do this. I want to make room in my life for things that don’t need to become a business, or advance my career, to be worth spending time on. I care about making them well, even when the thing itself is ridiculous.

Sometimes making a website is my way of saying, “You have to see this.” That’s where the advertising collection belongs. Other times, I’m trying to understand something, and building a version I can play with helps. The questions are personal, too. What would you do if nobody knew? isn’t something I’m asking from a position of having it all figured out.

I’m interested in what we could make, but I don’t think everything we’re capable of building is a good idea. Some of the imaginary companies here are things I’d rather leave imaginary.

Worth Making has become important to me. I’m proud of the work, and I’m still changing it. Putting these websites together is also a way of sharing the work of people whose ideas I’m glad I came across.
